Rather than beginning my post with apologies or explanations for disappearing from the blogging world, I’m going to jump right in and bring this baby back to life! I think a giveaway is the perfect way to celebrate, don’t you??
Since I’ve been ‘gone’, I have learned how to knit and am really enjoying making scarves for family and friends. I’ve discovered the joys of really luxurious yarn, the fun of trying different types of needles, the friendship of my local knitting group and the satisfaction that comes with completing a knitting project.
I’ll start with sharing photos and then get to the fun of the giveaway!
This is Elliott’s scarf. When she saw me knitting scarves for gifts, she decided she needed one, too. This bamboo yarn is so pretty and soft that I cranked this baby out in just a couple of hours.
This next was started out to be a scarf for yours truly, but I quickly discovered that I hadn’t ordered nearly enough yarn, so it was turned into a shrug for my girl.
This blue one is for my step-daughter. She hasn’t seen it yet, but I hope she’ll love it. When I found that blue yarn, I knew it had to be hers. (Elliott had to model it. 😉 )
And then there is my true love that I finished this morning. This yarn just couldn’t be more ‘me’ if it tried.
Now…
Would you like a scarf? Would ya? Are you sure?
Good.
I’m giving away a very simple but lovely wool scarf in fun fall colors! It can be yours!

Pretty scarves. You are very talented.
Elliot is the perfect model. Too Cute!!
Beautiful scarves! It’s been forever since I’ve picked up my needles.
Well, I love checking into your site and checking out all the crafty things I only wish I could do. I would like to see more detailed how to’s and more yummy recipes. I don’t think I would change anything!
I would love to read about the changes you have made in your life since going green and how you think your home, family and life have changed, too.
And I wanna win that scarf! It’s beautiful! 😉
I’d love to see more craft stuff because I have NO creativity whatsoever!!! But I think the best part…is the adorable 2 year old model! *grin* More pics of the kiddos!
And I’d TOTALLY love that scarf, it’s gorgeous!
Love your blog. I always check to see if you’ve updated it. The only thing I’d like to see is more tutorials. I love em! The scarves are gorgeous!!!!
Just get back to blogging and that’s enough for me 😉 BTW…I’m so not telling my dog about you! She’ll see these scarves and shrugs and want me to make something for her 😉
I’d love to see more recipes…and pictures. Pics, pics, pics, please!!
I would love to see recipes, crafts, housekeeping ideas, and fashion. I enjoy your site. You are so gifted. I’m proud to be your friend.
I’ve enjoyed my first look at your blog. I really liked the mini drawer craft tutorial and would like to see more of that kind of stuff. I also enjoy green cleaning advice.
I was just about to say “Tutorials!” Those are always great. And how about some photography tips? Hey, how about talking also about life way far out in Texas too! I miss it there….
Abbie — Have I told you lately how much I love you? You are my idol! Anything you post on your blog inspires me. What I like best is the tutorials. I would love a tutorial on hairbows…my technique isn’t working well.
I think we should skype a knitting group (or other craft).
I LOVE your blog and all your tips! I got myself a knitting kit to learn how so I would love to see some tips from you on how to knit. I am a lefty so sometimes it is hard to switch everything around to my view. I have the desire to live more green but would need some “baby steps” to start. So I guess just more more more from you!! I think you are great and love the pictures and the backgrounds that use as the setting. Thank you for sharing! And I would love to win the scarf but anyone would be lucky to win it…just keep the tips coming!!
I’ve been on a bit of a blogging break too, so I get it! I adore those scarves — I tried my hand at knitting last year but have gotten out of the habit. This makes me want to jump back in 🙂 I love your recipes, pictures, tips, and now scarves…so I wouldn’t change a thing! More of the same, please 🙂
Elliot is such a little doll. I think you do a great job on your blog. I love your recipes so maybe those.
Scarves are beautiful! I’d like to get more easy, quick delicious recipes. 😉
and any advice you have for 10.5 month old babies who are learning to throw fits!
Hi Abbie!
Love your blog. I actually made my first pinch clip using your tutorial. 🙂
I noticed your baby girl’s hair is adorably curly, and so is my girl’s! (hehe) What do you use in it to get the curl definition? Maybe curly baby girl hair tips could be added to your blog???
Love that scarf. I need a new one for this fall. 🙂

wouldn’t change a thing! my favorite things are your recipes, tutorials, and your pictures!!! that pretty much sums it up!
Great knitted proejcts. I cannot identify the yarns used – Would you share, please?

I agree with Kristie! More of your recipes, tips, tricks, housekeeping (lord knows I need it!) and fashion. You know you’re one HIP mama!
My dog would LOVE the scarf but I would have to steal it from her! Recipies are always good!
I would LOVE a made-by-Abbie scarf! I love your blog as it is, but I can always take more of your amazing recipes… and pictures… I LOVE pictures of your crafts and especially of your beautiful little model-girl!! 🙂
I would like you to show us how to knit!!!!! (Ok or just show me-which means we need a date night! However, not sure how much knitting we would get done!) Well no matter what – glad to have the green wife back! LOL!
Darn, I missed it. 🙁
I do love your blog as is and with lots of photos.
These scarves are awesome, btw and the pic looking over the gate is darling!
Abbie, I just wanted to say Hi!! Love the scarves and the colors are awesome!!
Hugs,Cyndi
Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to make a top
notch article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot and don’t manage to get anything done.
I pay a quick visit each day some web pages and
information sites to read articles, however this weblog provides quality based writing.
I have been browsing online more than three hours as of late, yet I
never found any attention-grabbing article like yours.
It is beautiful price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the net might
be a lot more helpful than ever before. adreamoftrains web hosting companies
I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your site?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could
connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for
only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it
out better?
Usually I don’t read post on blogs, however I would like
to say that this write-up very forced me to take a look at and do so!
Your writing taste has been surprised me. Thanks, quite great post.
Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your
articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
Nevertheless imagine if you added some great photos or video clips
to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content
is excellent but with pics and clips, this site could undeniably
be one of the best in its niche. Amazing blog!
