So I’ve had it in my head lately to make Elliott a halter dress with an owl applique. I scoured the internet for owl applique patterns, but couldn’t find one that just fit what I had in mind. With little confidence in my drawing skills, I set out to draw my own little owl. I was pleasantly surprised with how he turned out! I don’t use an embroidery machine. I stitch it all either by hand or a machine zigzag, so forgive imperfections, please.
I wanted to include some action shots and since Elliott is anti-posing—or anti-being-still–I had to bribe her with a game of peek-a-boo.
She calls it ‘playing peeky poos!’. And doesn’t she look thrilled?
Boo!
A balloon, however, is not a good idea for getting a toddler to stand still!
But you get the idea. I wonder just how many halter tops and dresses this girl will have by summertime?
LOL, at least she’ll HAVE summer clothes…I think I’ll let mine run naked this year, since we don’t have many neighbors….. 😉 (I’m kidding)
First of all she’s an absolute doll and I can’t stand how cute she looks in that dress. Her curls are adorable (I hope Mac gets my curls!). Second…I LOVE the dress. I’m going to say this over and over every time you make something until you give in. Make one for Macki PLEASE!!! With a cherry on top 🙂
That’s adorable!!
Wow what a beautiful dress on a beautiful little girl – the curls! Well done on the owl he is adorable. x
that’s adorable!!! and her curls are absolutely perfect! I LOVE THEM!!!
This an adorable dress! Kudos on the owl, too!
BTW – we have the Rose Petal Cottage at home too. 🙂

Hey I love this. Do you have the measurements for this dress? My daughter is the same size and I would love to make her one.
Thanks!
