Word from Wordcamp!

January 13, 2009 by abbie 8 Comments

This weekend I’m in Las Vegas with Shayne for Wordcamp.  It’s been a nice trip and a

wonderful break for Mommy. 🙂  Several nights without bathing and tucking in children, days

without laundry and dishes…..it’s lovely.  I miss my kiddos and can’t wait to hold them as

soon as we get home, but I’m honestly enjoying my little vacation from reality!

Las Vegas itself disturbs me a bit.  As we walk through the casino downstairs, I worry for

so many of the gamblers.  Rarely do I see a smiling face or hear laughter.  There is an air

of sadness and depression from all of the regulars.  This town is a sickness and not

somewhere I will mark on my list of favorite cities.

However….

I have had some fun and a little luck at one particular slot machine.  I’ve won enough to

buy us dinner a couple of times and put a few bucks in my pockets.  Guilt-free gambling can

be fun for a weekend, apparently. 🙂

As for Nerdcamp…um….Wordcamp, it’s been very interesting and even someone as removed from

the techie stuff as me can pick up some useful information about this amazing thing called

WordPress.  In fact, the developer of WordPress is here and laid out lots of interesting

changes that lie in WordPress’s future.  I think that maybe-just maybe-I’m a nerd just like

the rest of these Wordcamp guys. 🙂

    I like that, nerdcamp.

I felt like I was in the coolest place in the world, other than it being in the Palase Station.

Had a blast, was lovely meeting you 🙂

It was really great! I expected to spend most of the weekend relaxing in the room, but ended up enjoying the information and people very much! Nerds are pretty cool. 🙂

Herve Leger, sometimes deliberately written as Herve Leger is a French fashion house founded by the designer Herve Peugnet, also known as Herve L. Leroux

Herve Leger dresses was founded in 1985 by the designer Herve Peugnet (1957–2017). The same year Karl Lagerfeld advised Peugnet that his surname Peugnet would be too difficult for Americans, the target market, to pronounce, and instead suggested the surname Leger. Having lost the rights to the Herve Leger name, Peugnet later took a third “brand” name as Herve L. Leroux in 2000.
