So there are 12 days left until Christmas day. Plans are still up in the air. Most of our gifts are still sitting on shelves in stores. Goodies have yet to be baked.
But, none of that is really getting to me like it normally would. Mainly because life is so utterly good right now that Christmas could come and go without parties, gifts and goodies and I would still be perfectly content to just hang out with my husband and my kiddos. But…Alex if overflowing with with anticipation and Elliott is at a lovely age to really get to jump in and experience Christmas this year.
I’m very excited to see their eyes light up on Christmas morning and THAT is the part that makes me so excited that my eyes tear up a bit and I get a big knot in my stomach. I absolutely can’t wait.
That being said, I think it’s time I got a move on. Time to start planning get-togethers, shopping lists and recipes! Just typing this has spurred my motivation!
So…where do you stand on your holiday preparations? Are you done and sitting back satisfied? Are you procrastinating? Are you keeping it minimal or going overboard?
PS…the ornaments I mentioned in my last post? Not so much. If I decide to give it another whirl, I’ll even post pics of my failed attempts. 🙂
I’m glad you’re content…now I don’t have to get a gift 🙂
Love you lots
I am almost done shopping and started my baking last night. I have one more day of shopping and one more day of baking 🙂 Hopefully we are both done with at least a few hours to spare!! LOL
Christmas is great for kids, but as an adult, I’m too busy and I’m glad when it’s all over.
P.S. I’m all for the green life and organics!
Shopping and wrapping is done. Baking is getting started. The tree is up. We were going to make ornaments. In fact I had most of them baked and ready to paint. Then Haiden decided to climb on a counter to get a cup and knocked them all on the floor and busted them. I haven’t been so ambitious since then.
I can’t wait to see the kids’ faces on Christmas either. This age is the best on Christmas!
