When I started this blog the other day, I promised myself that I would post every single day. Not every post had to be thrilling, but a post had to be made nonetheless. I just didn’t plan on a sick little girl.
Man, is she sick! I’ve never seen a child so sick. After being poked, prodded, catheterized, gawked at, analyzed and vampire-ized at the doctor’s office yesterday, she came home with the lovely, vague diagnosis of ‘virus’. I love how the doctors have this wonderful catch-all diagnosis to give when all else fails….and they still get hundreds of dollars out of the deal.
Anyway…she’s in misery and this is officially Day 4 of the virus that I feel deserves a name. After much deliberation, I’ve decided to dub it ‘The Devil Virus”. Watch out for it. It’s a bad one.
Her temp has been bouncing around 104 for 4 straight days. She’s been covered in a rash. She’s vomited. She’s been utterly delirious and lethargic to the point of not even lifting her head or opening her eyes past slits when spoken to. When she IS more alert and aware, she cries and looks up at me with these sad little eyes that are just screaming out, “Mommy! Why can’t you help me????”
Watch out for The Devil Virus. It’s just no good. Babies don’t deserve this.
